Lodging - Delhi - Hotel Rani Castle
 Most
guests visiting Gulmarg from overseas will need to overnight
in Delhi on arrival in India.
Unless you wish to extend your stay in
Delhi, you will be arriving at Indira Gandhi International
Airport in the evening and departing for Srinagar from
the adjoining Domestic Airport the very next morning.
The closest lodgings to the airports are the Radisson
and the Centaur, but these hotels are quite expensive
for a simple overnight stay, particularly on a single
occupancy basis.
Hotel Rani Castle is located in Greater
Kailash, one of Delhi's more pleasant suburbs, a convenient
35 minute taxi journey from the airports. During our
stay in February 2005, Rani Castle's 25 rooms were fully
booked by guests from overseas, a testament to both
its excellence and its value for money. Facilities include
24 hour room service from the hotel's restaurant.
We can highly recommend a visit to Mocha,
a nearby cafe. Bookworm, on Mocha's lower level, offers
a great selection of English literature, and is an ideal
place for last minute buying of holiday reading material
(both classic and modern works, fiction and non-fiction,
overseas and local authors).
