We recommend guests spend at least one night in Srinagar on their homeward journey. This avoids risk of missing your flights home due to delays in travelling down from Gulmarg in poor weather.

Our recommended lodging in Srinagar city is Hotel Grand Mumtaz, a brand new hotel which opened in summer 2005. Grand Mumtaz is centrally located on Srinagar's Broadway, particularly convenient for shopping for handicrafts and clothing in the city centre.

Our recommended houseboat lodging on Srinagar's Dal Lake is the wonderful hospitality, and affordable luxury, of the Butt Family's Clermont Houseboats.
